Planning and Placemaking Awards 2019: Best of the Best

Brightwell Lakes, adjacent to Adastral Park near Ipswich secures Best Housing Scheme.

Brightwell Lakes has secured the prestigious award for Best Housing Scheme of 500 homes or more at the Planning Awards ceremony in London.

Submitted by CEG and Suffolk Coastal District Council on behalf of Carlyle Land Ltd, the award recognised the endeavours by the team to engage and address the local community’s concerns. Following a nine month application process, councillors granted outline planning permission for 2,000 homes.

Judges were particularly impressed by the scheme’s holistic approach, legible layout and the innovative delivery of infrastructure.
